20230415_zia_p185_011 April 15, 2023, Berlin, Germany: On April 15, 2023, Extinction Rebellion, an environmental movement, held a creative flash mob at the central train station today to draw attention to the ongoing global extinction of species. About 20 amateur actors dressed up in imaginative animal costumes and business attire performed a pantomime scene illustrating how ecosystem destruction is endangering our livelihoods. Passersby at the train station were encouraged to pause and ''confront the threat posed by the ecological crisis,'' according to a spokesperson. The group demands that the government implement an effective species protection program with measures that will lead to a profound structural change in the agricultural, energy, and transportation sectors. The current system is causing the sixth major extinction of species and destroying the fragile food webs upon which our existence depends..''We are currently witnessing the largest species extinction since the dinosaurs' disappearance. The ecological crisis is impossible to ignore, yet it is hardly being reported on!'' lamented Manon Gerhardt of Extinction Rebellion.'' Susanne Egli of Extinction Rebellion further stated that ''the government is violating Article 20a of the Basic Law by endangering the food security of the population with inadequate measures to combat species extinction. That same year Buckland resigned his college fellowship to become Canon of Christ Church, but continued to give his annual course of lectures on geology and minerology. To accomodate the growing collections of specimens, they were moved between 1830-32 into the adjacent, more spacious, Clarendon building. In 1836, Buckland would publish his "Bridgewater Treatise," intended to prove "the power, wisdom and goodness of God as manifested in the Creation.". alb3885935 During the late Jurassic period, Europe was a dry, tropical archipelago. In this image Archaeopteryx is depicted near the shore of the Tethys Sea. The Archaeopteryx is the earliest known example of a fully feathered dinosaur. Despite its resemblance to birds, Archaeopteryx has more in common with small dinosaurs, especially in regard to its clawed arms and tiny teeth. The highly evolved feathers may have permitted Archaeopteryx to glide short distances, however, it's unlikely Archaeopteryx could fly like a bird.
